About the Church
St David’s is a beautiful two-aisled sandstone church set among spacious grounds. There is seating for (200) guests, with parking available in the surrounding streets.

The Service
Couples are married in St David’s under the rites of the Uniting Church in Australia . The ceremony involves promises made in the name of God along with Bible readings, prayers and a short message on the theme of Christian marriage.
The bride and groom are able to choose their own music and Bible readings. We encourage involvement of family and friends to make this day as special as possible.
Flowers
We can arrange for flowers to be placed in the church for the ceremony. This is an optional service and should be confirmed when the wedding booking is finalised. Arrangements can be made for couples to organise their own flowers.
Note: St David’s can only provide the flowers for weddings conducted by the Minister of St David’s. For weddings conducted by other Ministers, couple are free to arrange their own flowers.
On some weekends there is more than wedding booked. On these occasions the couples can arrange to share the cost of the flowers.
Music
Every couple is different and so every wedding is different. We encourage the bridal couple to choose their own music that is suitable for the occasion.
In the selection of suitable music the couple can choose their own pre-recorded music and play it in the church on the installed CD player.
An initial contact is made through the Minister. Generally, a booking can be made for most times on a Saturday. On some weekends there are more than one wedding booked, but these are kept at least 90 minutes apart.
We are not able to book weddings on Sundays, as the church building is in use until 4pm each Sunday.
Preparation Program and Meeting with the Minister
The usual requirement is for two (2) meetings between the couple and the clergy. These meetings are normally held on Wednesday afternoons/evenings in the Minister’s office in the Manse, 53 Dalhousie St (next to the church).
In addition, it is our hope that each couple will participate in a pre-marriage seminar run by the ‘Centre for Ministry’, a part of the Uniting Church in Australia . The seminars run for one weekend or two Saturdays. The reason for this suggestion is our belief that marriage is a significant step and that it is worthwhile to prepare as much for the relationship dimension as is done for the ceremony and reception.
Costs and Arrangements
The costs of the wedding vary depending on the extras the couple wish to include in the service. There is a standard fee for use of the Church and for the Minister. Other fees are optional.
Church $500
Minister $100
Flowers $200 (Optional – for weddings conducted by St David’s Minister only)
Organist (Optional, by arrangement) $150
* Marriage Preparation Seminar $150 (Desirable)
At the rehearsal it is asked that the couple bring an envelope with three payments – one is the payment directly to the Church and Minister, whilst the others would cover the Flowers/Organist. A receipt will be provided.
